My name is Kara, I am an award-winning screenwriter, ghostwriter, and interactive game scriptwriter currently working as a Staff Writer at London Rowe Media.

Ever since I learned to read, I’ve loved to write. When I was about 6 years old, my first books were printed from my mother’s home computer and crudely stapled together, with crayon drawings decorating each page.

I got my start writing professionally after moving to Chicago at age 19 to study film. Through a series of happy accidents, I wound up writing in the weird and wonderful genre of romance, primarily paranormal romance, romantic comedy, erotic romance, and dark romance. I've written and ghostwritten romance novels, web novels, and dating games for a variety of clients and companies, including Crazy Maple Studios, ReelShorts, Above Story Limited, Zoomob Limited, GoodNovel, and IGG Games.

As we move about the digital age, the ways audiences consume fiction is rapidly evolving through social media, electronic publishing, and artificial intelligence, with the romance genre acting as a pioneer for many new mediums. I believe the only path for us as creatives is to change and evolve along with the consumers of our creative work, embracing interactive, serialized and short-form storytelling.

Since graduating college, I have continued to write romance, as well as horror, horror/comedy, dark comedy, romcom, adult animation, and children’s media, with companies and studios like Soul Sentinel Productions, Run Ricky Run Productions, Penberthy Family Entertainment, Florenzano Films, LiveColors, and Balloon Labs.

I’m always looking to take on new projects, and I am especially excited by new, innovative modes of fiction that utilize modern technology and the digital landscape to enhance audience experience.
